Home in the Cedars
Situated in beautiful Elk Valley, British Columbia, our Vélin Homes show home has great views all around. Following a day enjoying all that the area has to offer, watch the sunset over the slopes of Fernie Alpine Resort. The residence is a 4-bedroom, 2900 sq/ft custom home with uniquely beautiful features and accents. With room for entertaining and playing, this home is designed for your lifestyle.
Modern Farmhouse
Designed by Pico Studios, this home in the St. Andrews neighbourhood of Calgary is a wonderful example of a modern Scandinavian farmhouse. It is currently under construction, with completion slated for mid 2023.
Koocanusa Cabin
This recreational cabin is located in the Columbia Valley of British Columbia. Construction was completed in early 2023. It is a 2800 square foot bungalow and is an all-season retreat for its owners and a short term rental vacation property.
Unique aspects of this project included building in a remote area on a steep slope with granite outcroppings into which the foundation was doweled.
Craftsman Bungalow
Set at the edge of the rolling foothills, our bungalow project has a modern, clean look on the inside that is both practical and inspirational. The home offers an enjoyable experience suited to every occupant regardless of age. We were inspired by the region’s architecture and natural environment, and our team based the design of the project on those elements.
Heritage Home Renovation
We had the opportunity to work with our clients to tie the heritage finishes from the upper floor to the basement, bringing continuity to the overall home, and repairing items that were outstanding from a 2013 flood. We sourced period-correct doors and hardware from vintage stores and others' homes. An enclosed porch was added to make room for a larger family. Windows and skylights were added to flood the home with natural light.
Wine Room
A remodel of the existing basement layout allowed for a separate media room and gave us the opportunity to create this neat little wine room under the stairs. Working with a local metal fabricator, we created custom wine holders to match the modern aesthetic of the home, turning an under-utilized space into a focal point of the home.
Office and Shop
This large scale commercial building combines office space, storage, and maintenance bays in a 15000 sq/ft facility. Working with consultants and engineers, we accommodated the client's varied needs and expectations for the project.
Coffee Shop
The coffee shop was designed for the community's locals as a place to drop in and catch up with one another. This project, which was added to a larger commercial building, presented challenges with plumbing and mechanical systems.
Large windows on both exterior walls allow light to flood the interior of the space, creating bright and fresh ambience.
Restaurant and Multi-Use Facility
Remodeling an existing 7000 sq/ft structure into a restaurant gave us an opportunity to be creative. We changed the space into a private members lounge, banquet hall, board rooms, and fully functioning restaurant and kitchen.
Taking advantage of the existing building's architecture allowed us to create unique and interesting spaces.
