WE WANT TO BUILD A CUSTOM HOME. HOW DO WE GET STARTED?
The first step is to connect with a couple custom home builders who build in your area, and start asking questions. A good builder will have an array of properties to show you, which can give you a jumping off point and a glimpse into their work. If you have a completed a design in hand, or just the start of an idea, share your thoughts with the builders and get a sense for how they will approach your project.
IS IT MORE EXPENSIVE TO BUILD, RATHER THAN BUY OR REMODEL?

WE THINK WE WANT TO REMODEL. WHAT SHOULD WE CONSIDER?
We're going to answer that question with a question: Can you achieve what you want from the property you have? Project management, costs, and time aside, you need to know whether you'll be happy with the property after your renovations are complete. If you're never going to have your ideal property at the end of renovations, then you may want to consider a brand new build.
WE DON'T HAVE A GREAT EYE FOR DESIGN. HOW CAN WE BE SURE TO MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICES?
Many project management companies can display a full interior design using 3D renderings. 3D renderings let you "walk" through a property digitally. Not only will you experience the space, size, and flow of your home, you'll be able to see where your personal items, like furniture and electronics will go before your home is built. A digital walkthrough is a great way to highlight design problems and make corrections early.

Need inspiration? Magazines (online and offline) offer countless ideas of layouts and design features. An architect can also be a wonderful source of inspiration and ideation in defining the perfect room layouts that will work well with the interior designs you love.
